LOCATION:

The hotel is located some 200 metres from the beach and some 400 metres from the port of Santa Marina Salina. The hotel provides a pick-up and drop-off service for the port.
The Mediterranean has an infinite number of enchanting hideaways, but nothing quite as unique as the Eolian Islands. And it is the island of Salina, with her black beaches, sleeping volcano and endless clear blue sea, that is Sicily's best-kept treasure. With its distinct Sicilian flavour, Salina waits for you with history and tradition, adhering to sacred customs of hospitality, food and drink. The Sicilian architecture, a main feature of the island, is in harmony with the natural setting. Watch and admire the ever changing panoramas from the island's countless verandas and open decks. DESCRIPTION:

All of the island's uniqueness has been captured in our quiet, family-run hotel. And there are other comforts as well: Sicilian dishes prepared the way our grandmothers and grandfathers once taught us; air-conditioned rooms for those hot nights when the Sirocco (the southern winds from northern Africa) blow in from across the sea; a swimming pool surrounded by lemon trees for a midnight dip or an afternoon splash (just to mention a few).
Rooms with terrace or veranda overlooking the Mediterranean and the neighbouring islands. We have over thirty years of experience in the kitchen. Sicilian dishes are prepared the way our grandmothers and grandfathers once taught us. We follow traditional Eolian recipes, enriched with the aromas from our garden and the sweet wine of Salina, the 'Malvasia'.
Each room, neatly furnished with tiled floors and wooden furniture, has a shower and bath (some rooms come with a Jacuzzi).
The MammaSantina bar, open from early morning to late evening, serves a range of beverages to suit your mood. Espressos, cappuccinos and English Breakfast tea to get your day going. Lemoncella and Grappa di Malvasia to unwind with friends, family or a good book. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel's book and game collection, or connect to the world beyond with the computer and internet hook-up.
And for those of you looking for adventure or the chance to explore, the hotel provides detailed information on hikes up the island's extinct volcano Monte Fossa delle Felci, including nature guides that offer insight into the island's many flora and fauna. A trip around the island on our caique brings you to places that are otherwise inaccessible on foot: grottos, small lagoons and remote beaches. Excursions to other islands, which each have a special charm of their own, can also be organized.
